Made 6 quart jars of pickles today, first time ever. ;D They're easier than tomatoes, I found. I have enough pickles for a LONG time...I'll probably give a jar to my dad. I know he used to make a jar or two, and really likes them.

I want to try pickles sometime.my cucumbers did not do well this year. Does anyone know if you treat your soil after your plants have had the blight or just plant next year and hope it doesn't come back?

Those eggs look pretty tasty! You sure can can... Yesterday, I canned six pints of tomatoes. I'm getting better at it, more efficient. I have 8 good -sized ones now, 2.5-3 inch diameter, that are almost ripe. It looks like more canning is coming up. I think that I need to come up with some other ingredients to combine them with, just for variety. I have plenty of just tomato jars now.
I'm waiting on the brussel sprouts...they sure are slow to mature. I hope to pickle them when they're ready.
