What is your method for rotation of food storage?

We have an upright freezer and I use a series of low wall cardboard boxes to group like type foods together,(meats, veggies,etc.)

If purchased they come with an expiration date, if harvested we put the date of processing.The various boxes allows for me to pull everything in that section off the shelf and pull the older stuff forward as I restock the newer stuff the back.

For canned and dry goods we have three areas of storage.

Shelves in the storage porch/laundry room area, the pantry,(a closet we have set aside for food storage,) and the cabinets in the kitchen.

As the food is needed we pull from the pantry to the kitchen and then restock the pantry from the porch. It isn't the best method I am sure, but it is working for us.

There is obviously room for improvement and I welcome your suggestions or input.

Ours is simple...

I eat it, and whatever I don't want the wife eats, and what she don't eat - the dog eats. Anything left over is coon bait.

Ours is similar to yours. The pantry gets stocked with the excess and it gets moved to the kitchen cubbords as needed.

Same here. Everything that goes in the freezers gets dated. Oldest gets used first.

I dont have to worry about rotation. I have a 15 year old daughter who's friends are always over. What they dont eat, my son will when he comes over to visit!

We have limited cupboard space, so stock piling can/boxed goods isn't really an option. We'll buy new stuff once we get low, and when we put groceries away, I put the new items at the back and the older stuff up front. ;D Pretty simple stuff really.
