I have seen small eggs, but this is crazy

A couple of nights ago I was gathering eggs and when I open the nest box on the Tibetan Reds I found the smallest bird egg that I have ever seen.



Lower left, now that is one small egg. I placed an average size hen egg to the mix to really put it in to perspective.

Holy crap The second I viewed your pic my eyes fixed on the lower right hand corner cause I thought you had a wolf spider on your plate,

That's pretty crazy about the eggs. It must take a long time to peel all those tiny eggs for pickling.

I must just be on gaurd with the spiders all of a sudden.

Yes I'd say close to that. 3/4" long and about a 1/2" wide.

A few and by quail standards the eggs were huge.

Pat ,you got to try pickled quail eggs ;D ;D ;D....The key to peeling them little suckers is to put them a bowl of vinegar til the shells a dissolved

i had a smaller egg (I believe, dont have yours next to it for comparisson just going by the pic) than that last year, i kept it and still havent, iv got quit the collection of weird eggs, tinny, BIG, skinny, long, twisted, etc.

and i have rhode island reds, and hard rocks. just got a batch of red sexlinks this year.

my silkies eggs look like yours only brown


nice eggs tho
