It will be my first production year with the new business. Not going full speed ahead here though, going to just sell a few queens and nucs and try and buy my honey equipment and get my honey shed setup. My goal at the end of this is to be up around 400-500 hives. Only got a year of college left and then its time to grind!

Sounds good to me Pat, I've been thinking about it for years and finally took the plunge. Once I move onto my own piece of ground I will probably start up my pheasant/quail production again as well. But for now I think this will keep me busy.

Do you sell the honey in it's natural comb? non pasturized just good ol honey right from the hive? How about bees wax? is that something you might get into later?

I will be getting more into comb honey hopefully next year. All my honey goes right from the hive, into the extractor, into the bottler, and then into jars. No further processing. And all my wax is usually used up.

How much filtering and processing do you do to your honey.

I am looking for raw unfiltered honey.

Much of what I find in the stores is so highly filtered that it is hard to
call it honey.

Mine runs through one filtration process and its done. But it won't have chunks of comb in it, they are all filtered out.
