Check out a Guy named Joel Saladin at Polyface Farm. He does a similar thing and has his chickens follow along with their portable coop.
The kids would definitely like the idea of not having to clean the floor under our cages.
Also as a side benefit, probably see plenty of coyotes around that might need to be stretched.
