garden row and depth question?

Hey swampers i think our chance of frost has passed and ready to get things in the ground. I was curious as to how far appart you like your rows in your gardens? Also how deep do you like to till? I

I have (6 ) 4'x 12' raised beds 3' apart and 9 barrell sets. I till the beds 1 ' deep in early Spring to get all the compost mixed. I then till again with small tiller about 6 " deep about a week prior to planting.

The row spacing depends on what you are planting.
From everything I have been reading, it appears that tighter spacing than old school conventional wisdom results in less weeding.

I hate weeding. My wife is the master gardener and she plants most rows at least 18"-2' apart. I prefer to plant shorter rows stacked closer together.

We use a turning plow in Feb and go 10" deep. Let it perk until late spring then hit with the tiller. Tiller only runs about 5" deep.

Lots of crab grass here and the tiller sucks for it. It will germinate from little root bits so its like seeding/sodding the garden. At the end of season Ill probably spray any live crab grass with round up and let it compost a while before turning.

Pole and bush beans along with lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, beets, radishs will be in this one. The corn and vined plants have different locations. My tomatoes will stay in containers..

I go two feet apart center of row to center of row. I'm on top of sandstone so I till 'til I hit rock. usally about 7" to 8".
