First ever batch of pickles

This year my wife wanted some cucumbers that she could can and make some pickles for the family. This morning I picked a 1/2 bushel basket of cucumbers for her and away she went! This woman is a machine, I honestly do not know how she does it. Taking care of the kids, the house and she is always fresh baking or cooking something. I am lucky for sure but I have to keep working harder to keep the lbs off with all this cooking and such. Here are a few pictures of the 1st cucumber harvest and her 1st time canning cucumbers/pickles. Enjoy.

She also did this as a cold pack yesterday. It is pickled squash/zucchini with red onion and garlic. It is pretty good. Just something she decided to try out of one of her books.

Always wanted to try making pickles, especially dill. The cold pack mix looks interesting.

Looks like you've got a keeper there, SJ! ;D I hope to do my first canning/pickling this season, aside from fixing up some pickled eggs a few years ago. I've been eating or giving away a lot of my cukes and tomatoes over the past couple years, but I want to keep more for myself, and put them up. I also have eggplants, peppers, pumpkins, dill, and other herbs this year, which I have never grown before. Hanging out here puts all kinds of ideas in a person's head! ;D
