Bout time I add to this board

Well the fur shed's turned woodworking shop this month and I'm building stuff for the cabin. Just finished my medicine cabinet project and pretty happy with it. I built this from scraps left over from when I put siding on the cabin. Again, I picked the blue stained worm riddled stuff for the project. The cabinet will be hard wired to the solar and has 3 little drawers for bandaids and stuff like that. I made tree branch handles for it to match the rest of the cabin. Next project is the vanity.

Thank you Gents I appreciate the comments.
For years I would pick through the lumber to pick out the best quality stuff for cabinets and now I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I collect all the wormy blue stained stuff but like the outcome so much more.

Nice work JC,,,i agree,,,that spalted wood has the best character and it's usually cheaper than most pieces.

Cheap is right cause I mill my own and this was left over siding scraps from the cabin.

I have about 9000bf of logs sitting here to mill in the spring. They been sitting on the ground for a few years and are pretty riddled with bugs. It'll make some really nice looking stock for sure.

JC that is really beautiful.

IMO those natural pieces are just as if not more beautiful than traditional furniture.

We are almost done building our cedar log office and I'm ripping off some of your cabin ideas!

Milled a truck bed full of white pine yesterday and the wormy stuff with the blue stain is my favorite. Kind of hate to use it on the gable ends and not for cabinets or doors.
