The girls are really getting after it!

I checked on the Bees today and found them busy bringing in pollen. It's January and I have no idea where they are finding it.

Maybe they found a house with an open window somewhere that had a house plant that was blooming!  They are crafty little critters!

The local bee expert told me the evergreens are blooming! Go figure, pine scented honey!

Do you have tulip poplar in your neck of the woods? Not quit ready for them to start here yet, but that was one of the first things our girls this a way would start gathering from here.

No we don't. We are in the middle of the desert. There are many pines in town here that folks have planted. I have seen no poplars. The fruit trees will be blooming within the month and a desert plant called rabbit brush will come on soon. I will have to enter the hives to make sure they have ample room for growth and remove any left over honey stores really soon.

Bees absolutely fascinate me. They certainly have their own little society going. Please keep the bee videos and threads going.

A lack of Bees in my area, wanting pure un-altered honey. Fascination with Bees. I hope to someday make it a business.

Awesome! I'm actually looking into my first hive this spring. Been playing with the idea for a couple years now just reading books and watching videos but I'm hoping this year I'll actually pull the trigger. Hives can be pricey though in my area so I was looking to build my own. Bees are truly amazing creatures! Hope to see more videos soon!

I built my own hives. They are fairly easy to build and you save a lot of money. The Bees are just happy to have a place to call their own.
