My attempt at a fertilizer mix...

I am attempting my very own fertilizer mix this year. I wanted to get your guys’ opinions on it.

I’m taking all of my rabbit’s dropping and mixing them with the coffee grounds from my used filters. Both are free, plentiful, and good fertilizer in their own right!

I’m trying to be as frugal as possible in my homesteading techniques, but I am also learning as I go. So, if some of you more experienced gardeners could provide me some insight, that would be greatly appreciated!

Compost; Chicken manure, Rabbit manure, coffee grounds, egg shells, veggy scraps, weeds, leaves(shredded), lawn clippings, ashes, unused/dead minnows and throw in a shovel full of dirt from time to time. I built frames that stack as the compost fills up or can be remove to get at the compost. I also add cow manure to the garden and till it in. I'm not sure of rabbit manure, but be careful with the chicken manure, it can be too hot if added directly to the garden without composting first.

Rabbit manure is great and you can apply it directly to the garden. It is what you would call a clod fertilizer. Coffee grounds are a great source of nitrogen and really make working in the garden pleasant from the aroma; the worms love it too!!

I make a point to bury all my fish parts after cleaning my fish in my raised beds. Makes a very noticeable difference and it's free.

I save all my ashes from my bon fire pit and spread them on the garden in the fall then after spring planting I periodically spread rabbit droppings around during the growing season. I haven't done any composting myself
