Fellas, my female may be pregnant. I’m only saying this because she was roomed with a male Flemish Giant and another female. Since I’ve received her, she has been skittish (could just be her temperament), but just the other day I noticed a “nest” of sorts in one corner of her hutch. Because of the low temps she has plenty of straw in her hutch. It’s clearly a nest, however there are no signs of her fur in it?
I’ve been watching her, but I am not sure if she is pregnant or not. If she is, GREAT! I’ll have an early batch of meat rabbits, if not no biggie.
Any rabbit keepers here that can offer me some insight???

Tough to say if you didn't actually see the breeding take place. I'm not experienced enough to check them but I know some can feel their bellies and tell. Keep an eye one her

I just checked the cage again. She's started pulling out her fur and lining the nest with it. I'm expecting to see some babies in the next couple days!!!!!
I'm excited because the dad was a Flemish giant, these will be a good cross between the three breeds! I think I'm going to keep a female from this litter for future breeding.
I'll keep you guys posted!!!

That's great John. Did you have time to putt in a best box? Hope all goes well! Good luck!
Unfortunately, no I didn't. However, the hutch is filled with straw. I did that when I got her, since the temps got cold. I didn't want to mess with what she had built. There is a thick layer of straw in the nest itself, so I'm not worried about the babies being directly on the floor, not to mention she has a nice layer of her own fur as well. As an extra precaution, I place a heat lamp with a 60 watt red heat bulb over the top of the nest to help at night when it gets chilly.
