It's about time to move the chicks

From the brooder to the main pen. I got 20 white leghorn pullets, that are just over 3 weeks old now. Moving them tomorrow to the main pen, but sealed off the outside run for now. I'll keep them in there boxed off for another few weeks, until I see them roosting up above, then open up the outside run. It may be well into May before I take away the heat lamp.

Looking forward to fresh eggs come July

One day closer to homestead fresh eggs. I always wonder why the chicks don't gang up on the one that roosts and craps in the water. I swear iv'e changed the water to come back 10 mins later to find a turd in it and all the chicks looking like "what, I did not do it".

A quick pick of the chicks in the big pen. They seem to be doing well.

Well, I won't be asking for funds from you for your smoked chickens, but may ask you to finish the last 40 feet. I have a good tile spade you can use

They are looking good.They are a bit bigger than mine.I got 12 Rhode Island reds almost 2 weeks ago.Will be building my run soon.

Looks awesome!    I'll be picking up my 8 week old birds(Red Comets) on Monday!
