I went out this morning, and I was floored! Three eggs in a nesting box! I picked this birds up on May 4th at 8 weeks old, didn't expect an egg til August. I found a fourth egg in the corner of the coop, hopefully this bird will get with the program.
Breakfast is on my girls!

Excellent, luv them fresh eggs; scrabbled, fried, poached, hard boiled, easy over, with bacon, scrapple, sausage, ham, fried tators, toast, bagels, with ketchup, cheese, and Old Bay, for breakfast, lunch dinner or a late night snack. MMMM fresh eggs.

I have been getting three eggs every morning, not bad for young birds. They have been using the nesting boxes and with everything getting imprinted in their brains fairly well, August I may start letting them out to roam the yard...

The only worries I have is mink, I had one wipe out my last four birds in one night a few years back. The farmer took out the hedge row that lead right to my coop, so that might help? I also had a problem with my birds disappearing half the day, I had an old man living across the road, he had my birds crossing the road to get fed and would hang out with him quite a bit. He loved them birds...

I collected three eggs this morning, two were huge. I picked the larger of the two thinking it might be a double-yolker, it was! After filming, cracked the second one for breakfast and it was a double-yolker too! The huge egg from yesterday was a double-yolker also but broke a yolk, so I didn't bother posting. That's three in two days from five very young birds!
Finally let them out of the run for the last hour of daylight today. They seem to like it and managed to find their way back to the coop. They're all roosted and tucked in for the night.

Nice Rondy,,i don't have chickens here in the city but from watching cj's bird's over the years leads me to believe that wandering chickens eat more bugs and drink more beer,,,you'll have to ask cj about that last part but it's true. LOL
