So I have about 40 unused supers in my garage waiting for next season. These are full of brood comb and some frames and some crystallized honey on them. My main concern in the spring was the ants and I've taken care of them very well. But decided to closely inspect them again this weekend and found there are quite a few of these worm like things in the cells. They don't look like a wax moth larvae but I do want them out whatever they are. I can post a picture of them if someone wants but I was curious what the best way to kill them and then seal the boxes up so nothing else gets in between now and next spring. Only thing I could think of was to freeze the supers and then seal each of them in garbage bags. I appreciate any advice
The only thing I've heard of is the freezing and wrapping in plastic trick. I'm sure there are chemicals out there as well, but I'm not comfortable with contaminating the comb. Let us know what you do and how it works. Thanks and good luck.
