Did my weekly hive inspections today. Ladies are doing well. Have two honey supers on one of my hives, one being a fresh box that had no drawn comb. Well, the ladies took care of that just fine and are filling it with the end of season flow, for which I am thankful. The odd thing is that on four different frames in this new box, the bees drew out the comb around workers that had died. No idea why they had died, and it doesn't seem to be a real problem in the hive as the numbers are great, so I'm not worried. In the picture you can see four of the dead workers with their tails sticking out and comb drawn all around them, locking them in place. Odd.
