What will you run out of first?

Attachment Deleted I have not really put up much the last two years, just spread to thin for a large garden. I do freeze strawberries from my place, blueberries I buy, crab meat and a few fish I catch. Plus chicken, pork, venison and wildfowl. What is your favorite, what do you try to stretch for as long as possible, what always seems to run out first and what is your favorite???
Crushed strawberries is my favorite and I ration them to last till the early spring. I will lay off them till my Mother and cousins visit in Oct. There is nothing better than pulling out six crab cakes from the freezer and dropping them in some water to thaw while taking a scrub after hunting. Woodstove cranking, crabcakes and a stiff drink after a chilly hunt is pretty freaking nice. whats your favorite?

My walla walla onions are always the first to go. Sketti sauce is typically the only thing that makes it to next harvest. I do still have a big bag of morel mushrooms in the freezer from this spring. I'll be making a big pot of soup with those come deer/gun season.

I'm with CJ, onions always first to go, although carrots went fast this year. My 2 year old granddaughter is a carrot eating machine. Next year I'm going to double my onion and carrots.

Pickled Beets seem to go really fast at my place. I wish the pickled Jalapenos would keep pace cuz they are much easier to can.

Blueberrires seem to go fast. I make jam,but the frozen ones seem to disappear . I make a mean pork roast with blueberry syrup, pancakes,muffins, pie, drinks. Just don't understand where they all go!!!! Onions go quick, especially vidallias. They last in the cellar til January or so. Apples last til end of January. My mushroom collecting this year was the best so far. Most are dehydrated. Frozen Fiddleheads last to maybe March .

Hot peppers and sausage in tomato sauce. Never lasts till spring.We'll take a jar with some biscuits on the trapline for lunch as well as the deer stand. Last year we ran out by the end of February. Blackberry jam right behind it.

The way my wife and kids are going through the pickles... They won't last until spring! Guess I nailed this batch ?

My tomatoes usually go fast so those I run out of first. I never get to can enough. One year I did though.....and I think I must have canned 60 or so qts. lol

Every year I do two large rows of green beans specifically for pickled beans. Every year I think I make enough and my daughter proves me wrong by about January. Guess I will do three rows this year.

It's canned fruits and hot sauce for me. Every time I make hot sauce everyone thinks I do it just to give it away.
