How far apart to put hives?

I'll be starting out with 2 hives this spring and was wondering what the minimum spacing should be between the hives. I was planning on putting them in one of my gardens that is roughly 25' x 50' but I was wondering if I need to be careful putting them too close together?

No sir you don't need to worry about that.
Commercial beekeepers put four hives on a pallet, the sides touch each other.

histopicker is correct. No need to worry about spacing. I keep mine about three feet apart so I can get around all sides as needed. Makes life easier for this beek. Good luck with your bees and keep us posted.
