Yesterday the afternoon temperatures were fairly warm. I got home to see bees flying from both hives. I had expected the hive closer to the camera to not make it to spring. I opened it up around a month ago on a nice warm afternoon to find a cluster of only around 300 bees. Didn't really look any farther for eggs or brood, just assumed that if they were going to make it they would. Otherwise I would just split my other hive which was overflowing with bees, brood, and eggs. I was pretty excited to see a number of bees coming back to the hive yesterday afternoon, many carrying pollen.
