It will soon be time to take off honey supers. I have been making some bee escape boards. They are like an inner cover. except they have two triangles, with holes in the corners so the bees can come out , but hopefully not return to the super. There is a 2 inch hole , that the bees go into triangles. They are then covered with a triangle, of #8 mesh. They are called Quebec bee escapes. The plans are on the internet
How they work is, you put them in place between the brood boxes and the supers. Install them today , come back tomorrow and remove the supers. Most of the bees will have gone down to the hive bodies. My bee keeper friend uses them and needed some more. They are a bit fiddley to make but , I have lots of time,
We have had several really nice days, the girls are really packing the honey in. Our white dutch clover is in full bloom, things are looking up. old243
