While we were in Atlantic City the last day we went to a little county zoo about 30 miles south of Atlantic City . Just outside their bird display they had this bee display setup . It had a plexiglass front so you could see them working, a clear tube that led outside where they came in and out , im assuming from what you guys have said the three jars on the right are sugar water? Looked for awhile but couldn't find the queen. But a pretty cool set up.
Local nature reserve here has one with the tube to outside. Theirs exits on the second floor so the bees don't bother the guests. Pretty cool watching the ladies doing their thing and coming and going. Was a bit surprised by the lack of bee knowledge of the staff. Stopped to fix a phone and spent more time explaining bees and hives than working. Thanks for sharing the pic. And yes, I'm pretty sure those are syrup jars.
