i'm sure most of you already know this, but after christmas every year, take your christmas tree, and others and you can tie a cement block to them and throw em in your pond and it provides great fish habitat. we throw them in the resevoir too(not sure if we're suppose to lol) and if ya wanna catch some fish, just go back to that spot.
All I would say would be this: Be verrrrry verrrry careful. Adding things like conifers that emit high amounts of nitrogen as they decompose can be very detrimental to native bait fish like Smelt and Alewives, that need a constant fresh flowing supply of sweet water. While the effects may not be immediately noticeable, ten years down the line, you may find that the DNR wil be liming the place, and 'reintroducing' species of fish that used to spawn readilly prior. Aside from that, sunken x-mas trees are my favorite place to jig... with weedless hooks. I'm horrible about getting my hooks stuck on them otherwise.
Very good point BN'B, Spencer Lake wild life area close to here had that problem 20 years ago. Drained the lake after killing all the carp some one started there . Re dug structure, and now have a problem with too many grass carp, no weeds though LOL. ;D
It's just a name that IMHO won't ever be duplicated KH
