We got last years garden space enlarged and all planted, then we decided to put another garden in near where I have my sawmill. 3 days ago this area was thickly congested with scrubby birch trees and picker bushes. I knocked the trees down, cleaned up the brush, weedwhacked all the briars and pulled the stumps. We put up the fence for the beans yesterday and today tilled and planted it ;D. Hard to belive that 3 days ago this looked like an overgrown wasteland and now it's a level garden. It took me 2 hours to remove the backhoe and install the linkage for the 3 point hitch and the tiller but then only 10 minutes (1 beer) to have it all nice and powdery and ready to plant. ;D
I like putting a strip of fence on one edge like this and have the beans and cukes climb up it. It really saves on garden space.
