kyboy, what are they raised for meat? eggs? I've seen them on farms with alot of other fowl, but never really knew what they were for. I've had people tell me they make good guard dogs, cause they make so much noise. Have also heard they are tick eatin' machines. ;D
my neighbor has 5 of them they are great guard dogs she says nobody can get with in 100 feet of her house with out them making a ton of noise .over in Africa they eat them all the time but don't know about any body around here that eats them. she also says she don't have many bugs or snakes around any more
According to an old gentleman that lived nearby, the local hatcheries hatched as many guinea hens as chicken at the turn of last century, they fended for themself a little better than chickens, you're right about guard animals, get some geese if you want noisey guards, hes where meat birds mostly.
