Can you raw pack whole meals and can them, or is it best to cook them first? Take venison stew for instance. Can I just fill a jar up with stew ingredients and pressure can it? Or should I cook the stew first, and then can it?
Wow...I never even thought of that. I bet it would work, you might have to experiment with liquid...but give it a try and let us know!! ;D

Pressure canning is cooking, anything pressure cooked to the correct amount of time is good to go, have pressure cooked both cooked and uncooked meat and meals, should not be a problem. Steve
I can stew, chile and soup all the time. I always cook it completely first. Eat some at the time and can the rest. I usually make about a 16 - 18 quart batch, have a couple of meals and can 14 quarts at a time.
I would think that trying to can raw stew would be difficult unless you knew exactly how much to seaon each jar. By cooking it first you could sample the pot and add as needed, then when you have it where you want it - can the batch. If you had the seasoning figued out it does sound like an easy way to pull it off ;D
