I got tired of having the air conditioner on(cost) so I went and got some turkey cookers (2) to can outside works great. The pots are just right for blanching tomatoes or peaches to remove the skins. One for boiling and one for ice n' water, while one cooker has a water bath or pressure canner going.
People are always stopping by to chat, but never offer to help
I have not, but it's a great idea! The mess is outside and so is the heat. As long as you can do it on a day that's not windy, you should have better control over your heat than you would if you had an electric stove.
I can remember reading about older homesteads and a lot of them had summer kitchens. Which I guess were just pavilions or simple outdoor structures.
Use it up, wear it out. Make it do, or do without![/b]

we do most of our canning in the garage we have a jet burner and an electric stove out there. We set up our tables and it works great when we are done we take a water hose and wash it all down mess is gone.
