Rain collection system started

I probably won't get this "finished" till next spring for the garden. but did get a platform done today. This is off the lean-to on the barn, with 60' of roof span. It's also 20 feet from garden area. I'll connect all the drums with tubing, and integrate a ballvalve in the downspout, when I'm ready to hook everything up, with a spigot for filling containers. Will post details on that then ;D

Looks great so far! It is a lot of work, but when you finish it will be good for your garden. I would like to see more pics when you finish.

Good idea. And nice setup. ;D Lookin' forward to the finished picks also. What made you decide to go with the 4-55 gallon barrel drum route instead of the bigger 250 gallon water tanks. Like this:

Looks like you're off to a good start. It's always good to have water stored up, even if it's only rain water. If a major power outage occurs at least you'll have water to flush the toilet and stuff like that. People don't think of things like this until it's too late.

That law really sucks and should be challenged in the supreame court. Here in Ontario Canada One city here made it illeagal to have or use a clothes line in your back yard. The reason is kids hop fences and could get their neck caught. But if you really read between the lines it is the cities way of making you use resources that could other wise be saved...... Just another dumb law that some one who doesn't care about the enviroment.

Thats a good setup you got there charder. Thats about the stupidest laws ive ever read time to start purchasing ammo cans full for the springfeild and stock pilling them. ;D It will be somthing stupid like this that brings this country down.
