Hey everyone! New to the forum and thought for my first post Id share a new recipe that I recently tried. Country fried deer backstrap. Everything is pretty approxamite and can be adjusted to personal taste. First I take half inch backstrap steaks and tenderize them. Next marinate them in a mixture of milk and hot sauce. meanwhile combine a mixture of flour, pepper and salt in one bowl and a little milk and an egg beaten together in another. When the steaks have finished marinating, first dredge them in the flour, then egg wash, then back into the flour and then into a preheated skillet w vegetable oil. Fry for a couple of minutes on each side until they are cooked through and let them drain on a cool plate. For the gravy I drain the oil off of the pan, melt a little butter, add milk and flour, and scrape all of the charred bits from the pan into the mixture. Drizzle over steaks and enjoy!
