Any one ever use a poulan pro chainsaw?? I have used stihl my whole live and yeaterday I was at small engine shop where I have all my work done and he had a poulan pro 50cc 20" bar. He said the saw is awesome and in his opinion runs up there with the higher name brands. I was thinking of picking it up for my little brother when he comes to help me cut wood. Anyone use this saw?
My dad has this saw and he has no complaints, however he doesnt use it all that hard. In other words, he isn't out for a full day cutting timber with it. I've noticed they can be hard starting, but its like any other small engine. If you take good care of it it should treat you well. For my money though, there is no better chainsaw than a Stihl.

I have one and use the daylights out of it. I have had no problems with in in the 14 years I have had it. Only one time at to take it in to have the carburator overhauled. which in my opinion is not bad or to much to ask from a saw. I to also on Sthil's Farm boss and have it a little bit longer than my Poluand and also have a hasquvarna which is a grand saw as well. The Shil and Has are more expensive than the Poluand but it is a great saw for the money.
Thanks I have a stihl mini boss and the farm boss the farm boss is on its way out n stihls are great but pricy. Which with a little one now I don't have much mad money. I think I will give poulan a try.
Poulan makes a decent saw Ive used quite a few. Just like any saw if you keep the mix ratio right and make sure the oiler is working well you should have many years of good service. Dont forget to drain the gas or use a fuel stabilizer or your lines and carb gasket will crumble faster than they should. Alot of people are using 100% gas in there small engine mixes and having good sucess because the grade of ethanol seems to be getting more caustic on the lines and gaskets.

I have used Husqvarna, Stihl, Jonsered, and Poulan for both commercial and recreation use. The first three saw's that I mentioned were, and still are awesome. I would have to give the edge to the Stihl because it seemed to fir me better so to speak. Now, as for the Trash Can, I mean Poulan, it has been sitting in my garage for months and I cannot get it to run consistently. One day it will start (after 50 pulls) and the next day it won't start at all. It has only cut two pickup truck loads of firewood. I would never buy another, but that's my opinion. I am sure that people have gotten years of good use out of them. Just figured I would give you my two cents worth.
