1 more panel to go!!! Digging 40 ft trench to cabin for new cable was hardest part. I decided to use a pole mount because climbing up my metal roof in winter to clean panels off was a pain in the Arse!! This way I can just broom them off. I can also tilt the panels for cleaning,maintenance, and for adjusting angle for sun in summer/winter.. (4 ) panels at 185 watts each when done. Plenty for me!! Peace Jack

Doing it myself saved a small fortune. I built my own mounts. I had a solar setup already, but got bigger panels. I went from 100 watt panels to 185's. I already had a 30 amp charge controller, a disconnect box, inverter, and 4 batteries , I spent about $2000. on everything else to include poles, cables, framing, panels, etc.
I sold the (3) 100 watt panels to a summer camp down the road.

I will run 3 lights, 1 solar freezer, and my laptop. I could run more things but that's about all I need. I live off grid as you probably know. I have a fridge, stove and a couple lights that all use propane. I have a wood cook stove and a wood stove for heat. I use the wood cook stove in winter and propane the rest of the year. Generator for power tools. Don't have a TV but I watch a movie on my laptop once a week or so. I have no electric on my road and never will hopefully. Satellite for internet. Only real bill I have!!!
Next year a solar refrigerator is on the agenda. That's why the extra pole in photo.
I live cheap, frugal most call me. Not because I have to, but because I want to. Just being me in this world of material wealth which I never could comprehend or want.
I am retired by the way with 2 pensions and sound investments. Peace Jack

WTG buddy. I was hoping to have my panels on the cabin but things got set back with the medical crap. Looks like you'll be styling with your new setup. You're living the life buddy. Backwoods living is the most rewarding path to take.
