Clearing some thicket area

Across the street, in some very low ground bordering the river, I have a narrow 9 acre strecth of ground.
About in the middle, favoring the river side, I've been chipping away at clearing a 1/2 acre or so of this thicket, revealing some maple, sycamore and cottonwood trees. The plans are to get another deer blind back in there on the outskirts of the clearing by April of next year.
It's slow going, but as each day of work passes, it's looking better and better ;D








Last weekend, we also dug out a through along the extremely high. steep river bank, making a nice crossing for the deer. Just 2 guys with shovels, and a case of beer can dig quite a bit in a 4 hour period

That is unbelievable how much you guys have done. Can't wait to come back down and see it. In addition to my waders, I'll bring some work clothes.......just in case .

Thanks I will be planting a few apple trees for sure. Yesterday, we actually broke ground on the new deer blind. The 4x4 posts are set, and braced up. Will be heading to the lumber store this morning to keep plugg'n away at it ;D

Made some good progress on the new deer bling today! The floor will be at 13' ;D

Box dimensions will be 4X8

Will get the stair rails and walls up here in the next couple weeks. Might be able to hunt out of this thing this year yet

No "maybe" about it!!! We'll get the walls on that blind and button up anything else you may have lingering around. Depending how much time we spend on the line.......we should have plenty of time for "extras"?! I'll bring my belt and hammer ;D. Better yet, I can bring my kid......he can drive nails while we're working the line. Just keep him out of your cooler .

Big diff from saturday morn when you said,,"I think i want to put the box here". LOL
It's turning out good cj and you really need to think about that zipline from the road to the box.
Why do the deer at that stand always show up between 3-4am??

John, its an even bigger difference than Friday night, when he said, "at the end of March we can start building the box" Bob and I both looked at him and laughed. I knew it would be up by the end of the weekend!!!

yes, we'll be pretty comfy I'm even amazed at what's been accomplished in a one week span.
As JC says, remove the instant gratification factor, take baby steps, and you'd be amazed how pluggin away a bit by bit what can be accomplished.
It's really turned from a so-so spot to a really nice section of property

Thanks. No heat, or a roof. Just 40" walls around the top
