Another day at the homestead.

Did a little turkey hunting this morning but didn't have any come into bow range. It was a prettty chilly morning and I felt like working in the woods today. I decided to see if my sawmill would start and that was my first mistake. It started and I decided to throw on one of the logs that I had taken down when I was clearing for mama's garden. (second mistake). Next think I knew I had the chainsaw out and I was dropping trees like an idiot and milling and peeling cabin logs for next years deer camp . Now I'm dog a** tired and it looks like I'm well into another project Hounddog, where are ya when I need ya buddy? I bet you'd enjoy peeling these logs ;D





I've got a log way to go but at least I got a start on it. I'll only need about 90 more for the cabin

Looks like fun! I worked sawing for a guy a couple years ago. Most enjoyable job I've ever had.

oh boy..you haveing some fun now.i would love to peel some logs.i even have my own tools.i love the smell of fresh cut wood and the sound of a chainsaw.you lucky dog!!! ;D ;D

Not like I need to remind you JC,but be sure and save that slabwood for making some awesomely natural looking coni-boxesIt'd be a shame to split it for kindlin.

Tip of the day for those of us that don't own our own sawmill.Go to your local sawmill,pay $10 or so for a halfton load of slabs and build a decades worth of coon/mink cubbies,weasel boxes,muskrat floats etc.

I'm much better at starting 10 projects than I am at finishing 5

It is fun but is also a ton of work. I'll cut trees a little at a time through the summer and let them season, then slap the cabin up next year.
